What happens beneath the surface? Our seas, lakes, and rivers are under threat from intensive fishing and aquaculture, not to mention pollution from a wide range of human activities. The negative consequences impact not only ecosystems, but also human communities, which have an increasingly difficult time accessing marine and freshwater resources.

What exactly are the consequences of intensive practices on marine and freshwater ecosystems?

And what’s happening on land? How do intensive fishing and aquaculture affect coastal communities, and how can these communities protect the ecosystems on which they depend?

We’ll talk about the complexities and contradictions of fishing and aquaculture and hear directly from communities engaged in resistance.

The panel of speakers will be published soon.
