Embark on a culinary adventure through the many vibrant flavors of the plantain, a staple food that has nourished and inspired generations of people throughout the Americas, and join extraordinary Colombian and Dominican chefs as they come together to celebrate a versatile food that transcends borders and unites cultures.

The plantain, a starchy fruit native to tropical regions, has long been a cornerstone of Caribbean and Latin American cuisines. With its unique texture and flavor profile, it has given rise to an impressive range of culinary creations, both savory and sweet.

In this Taste Workshop, you’ll learn about the rich cultural heritage that surrounds the plantain and gain an appreciation for its importance in traditional gastronomy and in connecting communities. Come discover how this humble fruit has become a symbol of identity, resilience, and culinary innovation.

Joining us in this workshop to present a range of creations featuring the plantain will be Carlos Estevez, coordinator of the Slow Food Cooks’ Alliance in the Dominican Republic, and Jennifer Rodriguez, coordinator of the Slow Food Cooks’ Alliance in Colombia.

This event is on sale on our website until September 24. During Terra Madre, you can check in with Events Reception to find out if there are still tickets available.

Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is presented by Slow Food, the City of Turin, and the Piedmont Region. We look forward to seeing you at Parco Dora in Turin from Thursday, September 26 – Monday, September 30. Through food, we can rediscover ourselves as part of nature. #TerraMadre2024.
