For too long, Western society has been defined by dishonesty and abuse. Under the regime of patriarchy and male supremacy, women and nature have suffered abuse and injustice.

But our Mother Earth is generous, and she is female—and it is precisely the voice of the feminine to which we must listen if we want a world based on dialogue, empathy, and understanding rather than competition and the systematic abuse of others.

We have already begun this work with incredible projects like Donne che salvano la terra (“women who save the earth”), that gives voice to people who work, often in the shadows, to protect the Earth, produce good, clean and fair food, and change the future. During this conference, we present the stories of ten award-winning women through voice, image, and sound.

This event is the final stage of the Donne che salvano la terra project, created by Slow Food with support from the Piedmont Region’s department for equal opportunity.
