This Taste Workshop eulogizes the old vines and vineyards that bear unrivaled potential for producing truly great wines, and that preserve genetic heritage of inestimable value.

And that’s not all: Old vines carry within them the wisdom of traditional and sometimes ancient agricultural practices. It is thanks to this accumulation of history and experience that old vines often prove to be the most resilient in the face of challenges to contemporary viticulture, from diseases to climate change. The added charm and intrigue of designations like “pre-phylloxera” speaks to the inherent value of a viticultural past that is in danger of disappearing, but which for which there is still hope as long as old vineyards are cared for. During this workshop, we will explore wines from different regions and listen as old vines whisper their potential to us through the glass.
